How We Give Back
Gifts That Give Back in More Ways than One!
When you shop at Unity - Fair Trade Marketplace, 3% of every purchase goes back to our global community!
By doing business the Fair Trade way, we are helping to support artisans and farmers around the world in their efforts to better their lives and their communities. This is a vital contribution to alleviating poverty and cultural devastation in developing nations.
Although it may seem like Fair Trade is giving back, in our minds doing business in a just and sustainable way is just plain THE RIGHT THING TO DO. We can't imagine doing business any other way. That said, we've decided that we need to give back in three ways:
- As members of 1% for the Planet, we give 1% of our annual revenues to environmental causes. We strive to be environmentally conscious in all parts of our lives and our business, and this is one small way we care for the earth - by supporting those who are on the front lines working to save our planet.
- Another 1% of our annual revenue goes to our local community. We all need to support our local communities in as many ways as possible - change starts at home!
- Last but certainly not least, we give 1% to our global community. Sometimes this will take the form of educational programs for children in developing nations, sometimes social justice and human rights organizations, and sometimes for disaster relief - whatever seems most needed at the time.
Giving money is only one small way of making a difference. We recognize the importance of being active members of both the local and global community, and this will manifest itself in many ways.
